With a background in graphic design, Mcmary’s illustrations of animals and children are elaborate with simple strokes of ink and watercolour, creating an innocence and childlike touch.

In 2006, she released her first book “A Story about Santa”. Her 2008 work “Ink is Raining in My Estate” was awarded Silver Prize for the Epson Color Imaging Contest Competition in Hong Kong. Same year, she had an exhibition “Life is like a Playground” in Hong Kong and at the same time her second book “Walking with Slowman” was published.
